Self-Cleaning™ Residential Electric Water Heaters
10-Year Tank Warranty • 10-Year Parts Warranty
Our most efficient residential electric water heaters – 3" thick CFC-free foam
insulation, Silencer™ heat trap nipples and other features combine to produce
.94-.95 energy factor for maximum savings on operating costs.
Self-Cleaning Turbo Coil Dip Tube – features jet ports that direct incoming cold
water to create turbulence that reduces sediment buildup in the tank. This
Self-Cleaning action helps prolong tank life and maintain high
energy-efficiency.
NEW Blue Diamond™ Glass Coating – Provides ultimate protection... over twice the
corrosion resistance compared to industry-standard glass lining.
Sandhog Low-watt density Incoloy steel upper and lower heating elements –
designed to operate more efficiently and last 2-3 times longer than standard
copper heating elements.
Long-Lasting PEXAN ™ Dip Tube – Like all State residential water heater dip
tubes, the Turbo Coil is made of PEXAN, a cross-link PEX polymer that can
withstand longterm exposure to water temperatures up to 400º F.
Magnesium Anode Rod – helps protect against corrosion for longer life.
Durable Tamper-Resistant Brass Drain Valve.
Factory-Installed Side-Mounted Temperature & Pressure (T&P) Relief Valve.

NEW ‘GREEN,’ LOW-NOx GAS-FIRED BURNER NOW STANDARD FOR
STATE RESIDENTIAL LINE
State Industries, Inc. has developed and patented a new, environmentally
friendly gas burner that cuts residential water heater emissions of nitric oxide
and nitrous oxide (called NOx) by up to 33%, as compared with a conventional
gas-fired water heater. Designed by State engineers and produced by the
company’s component-manufacturing subsidiary, Apcom Inc., the "low-NOx" Green
Choice™ burner is used in both natural or propane gas water-heater models.
California-compliant: The new Green Choice gas-fired burner fully complies with
Rule 1121, as promulgated by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD)
and other California management districts. These agencies govern emission levels
for water heaters sold and installed within their jurisdictions, including the
counties of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino,
San Diego, Sacramento and others throughout the state.
But State has not confined production of the new Green Choice to only those
water heaters sold in California. As of April 1, 2001, all State residential
gas-fired units sold nationwide carry the new burner as standard equipment at no
additional charge. This change encompasses both the State and Maytag brand
models, including all direct-vent, power-vent, and power direct-vent units, with
heat inputs up to 75,000 Btu.
Equipped with a Green Choice gas burner, a standard 40-gallon, 40,000 Btuh water
heater will emit 1,158 grams of NOx annually, versus the 1,655 grams it would
emit with a conventional burner — a 30% savings per water heater. If every
gas-fired residential water heater made in the United States this year were
equipped with a new Green Choice gas burner, the resulting savings would equal
the removal of more than 400,000 cars from our nation’s highways.
Lighter, less costly: Like every other water heater manufacturer, State has
previously complied with the SCAQMD’s emission regulations by outfitting its
production for California with specially made burners, often constructed of
cast-iron. Because of their material makeup, these bulky burners are larger and
much heavier than conventional burners. Their extra weight makes them more
difficult to handle and more vulnerable to damage during transport. Finally,
they tend to warp over time, diminishing performance, efficiency and burner
longevity.
The new Green Choice burner is made of the same aluminized steel used in
conventional gas-fired water heater burners. Its weight is therefore less than
one tenth that of the cast-iron models it replaces, making it easier for the
installer to handle water heater, while offering the ultimate user greater
durability than cast iron.
State Industries, Inc. is a major North American producer of residential and
commercial water heaters and related products, with sales in excess of $400
million. Founded in 1946, the company employs more than 2,000 at its Ashland
City facility, located in middle Tennessee near Nashville.
